Overview
This workshop offers a holistic and evidence-based preparation for childbirth, supporting both the physical and emotional journey of birth. Designed for expecting parents and birth partners, the day combines practical tools, body-based exercises, and open conversation to help you feel informed, confident, and supported before, during, and after birth


What you’ll learn / do

  • Understand the physiology of childbirth, including the stages of labor and how to support them

  • Learn practical birth partner support and comfort measures, such as massage techniques, positioning, verbal encouragement, and emotional presence

  • Explore mental and emotional preparation for childbirth, both individually and as a family

  • Practice maternal alignment and balance exercises, including Spinning Babies–inspired techniques

  • Develop a clear birth vision and birth plan, for both hospital and home birth settings

  • Learn about hospital interventions and pain relief methods, including when and why they are used

  • Prepare for water birth, including benefits and practical considerations

  • Receive evidence-based information on childbirth practices

  • Explore the fourth trimester, including breastfeeding, newborn care, family dynamics, nutrition, and postpartum support

  • Participate in an open Q&A space, where couples can ask any questions that feel alive and important to them

  • Expecting parents and their birth partners

  • First-time parents as well as those preparing for another birth

  • Couples planning a hospital birth, home birth, or still exploring their options

  • Duration: 7 hours (including a 1-hour lunch break)

About the facilitator
